Clinical Research

Clinical Research is a critical link in the process of developing new medications and treatments. Development begins in the laboratory where new compounds are designed and created. Preliminary testing identifies compounds that appear promising for the treatment of diseases. However, no amount of test tube research can ever answer the question of whether the new compound will turn out to be a truly valuable new drug. To determine that requires careful testing, not in a laboratory or on animals, but on humans, and specifically with people who actually have the disease in question.
